Peer Coaching
During a time of accelerated pace, and heightened expectations in today’s world of work, it is more critical than ever for leaders to find efficient ways to increase their knowledge base, technical acumen and leadership competence. Paragon's Peer Coaching process provides a structured approach to leverage the strengths and experiences of your leaders in support of one another's development.
Peer Coaching pairs are created such that they can offer one another the following complimentary strengths in order to support one another's development goals: functional experiences, leadership competency strengths, interpersonal style, stakeholder relationships, organization experience and history, internal credibility, etc.
The Paragon Coach equips the Peer Coaching pair with tools and structure to support one another, while the Paragon Coach also supports the development of each individual.
How it works:
Each participant receives individual coaching in tandem, with intermittent pairing for coach-facilitated practice and peer coaching. Typically, the peer coaching process is over a 3-6 month period of time and includes in person and virtual sessions with the Paragon Coach and Peer Coach. Milestone sessions with each leaders' boss are also included to ensure alignment with boss expectations and feedback.
Development includes tools and strategies specific to peer coaching, stakeholder management, feedback strategy and emphasis of leadership development areas, respective of the individual’s needs.
Peer Coaching partners:
- Listen to understand each other's situations, needs, desires, dreams, ideas
-
Offer suggestions about how to make best use of the action learning opportunity
-
Act as a sounding board
-
Surface and challenge assumptions about what is happening or about what is possible
-
Think through alternatives to anticipate and overcome obstacles
-
Share experiences, insights and knowledge of organization, functions, stakeholders, etc. that are relevant to one another's development and business objectives
-
Keep each other on track
-
Reflect on progress made and lessons learned
This process is intended to integrate directly into the leader’s internal development plan. If the leader does not have one, the Paragon coach will assist the leader in developing one to ensure sustainability of learning and development.
